GINS
GIN LIST
It's always Gin o'clock at the Usk & Railway Inn!
This gin is based on the London Dry style but they call it a “Welsh Dry Gin”. It is made using Welsh water from the mountains around Aber Falls. Botanicals used are very traditional, providing a traditional juniper forward gin, with a layered citrus edge and a slightly spicy and sweet backbone.
Blackwoods is the original vintage Gin, made in small batches using a traditional copper pot still. Each vintage is subtly different, the flavour being determined by the availability of our handpicked Shetland botanicals.
Pink Grapefruit & Pomelo Gin is crafted by copper pot distilling GB Gin with a bounty of pink grapefruit and pomelo peels.
This zippy and zesty gin mixes perfectly with tonic and should be garnished with a fleshy wedge of pink grapefruit.
Mediterranean gin distilled in a thirteenth century chapel in an ancient fishing village where every bottle is unique as every year the star product, arbequina olive, changes acidity. Gin Mare is made with a variety of botanicals including rosemary, thyme, basil with lots of zest. This stuff can easily be paired with a vast range of foods and ingredients if you fancy it.
Every one of our gins benefits from a traditional two-day process – just as they would have in 1863, allowing the flavours to develop and marry before the gentle heat of the small-batch copper pot still is introduced. Every gin is distilled to a family recipe dating back over 150 years for absolute integrity of flavour.
Opihr Oriental Spiced Gin is an aromatic take on the premium gin category. Launched by Quintessential Brands in October 2013, the gin is made at the G&J Distillery and backed by their experienced marketing team.
The quintessential expression of a classic London Dry Gin. Bold, complex and aromatic – smooth enough for a Martini, yet rich and balanced, perfect for a G&T.
Back in the 1830s, Charles Tanqueray was not afraid to mix up brave ideas in his own unique style. He invented a gin which is still celebrated to this day. The perfect mix of ingenuity, heritage and hard work.
An award-winning, invigorating blend of 11 vibrant botanicals, bottled at 46.1% for a more dramatic Bedrock.
The sharp acidity of grapefruit and floral notes of blueberry combine beautifully with the unique botanicals in Brockmans Gin. For a complex, yet refreshingly smooth taste.
Our world famous gin in its distinctive blue bottle. Every drop contains 10 hand-selected botanicals from exotic locations around the world.
The gin, made by wine and spirits producer KWV is a botanically unique affair, even in this day and age. Made on a grape base and with Kalahari truffles in the mix, Cruxland Gin was inspired by a trip KWC’s Brandy Master (how’s that for a job title) took to the Kalahari desert. There, he stumbled upon the fungus and decided it would probably work well in a gin.
Hand crafted by BRITAIN’S OLDEST DISTILLERS, Greenall’s Gin remains true to our founder’s vision to create the first quality crafted gin. Greenall’s The Original London Dry Gin remains unchanged from the original recipe, closely guarded by just seven master distillers in our 250-year history.
An ideal distraction while enduring the terrible films on television at Christmas. Sublime simplicity itself. There’s a good reason the Hendrick’s Gin and Tonic, with its cucumber garnish, is so loved. Poetry in a highball.
A batch distilled and handcrafted Schwarzwald Dry Gin that fuses British traditions, the exoticism of India, and the purity of the Black Forest.
The first gin from Japan's legendary Suntory - Roku Gin. This expression is made using a selection of botanicals, including six Japanese botanicals that provide a whistle-stop tour of the four seasons. These include sakura leaf and sakura flower for spring, sencha tea and gyokuro tea for summer, sansho pepper for autumn and yuzu peel for winter. Traditional gin botanicals also featured include the likes of juniper, orange peel, lemon peel, coriander and cinnamon, among others.
Whitley Neill Gin is slightly softer and much smoother than traditional Gins, with rich notes of juniper and citrus, pot pourri and exotic spices. The finish is a long one, with a subtle fade of herbs, cocoa and candied lemon peels, while the nose is both citrus-sweet and peppery, with a distinctive floral aroma.
