This privacy policy deals with how The Usk & Railway Inn handles ‘Personal Data’ as it is defined in the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation). Personal data, as described by the GDPR is data such as a name, an identification number, location data, an online identifier or to one or more factors specific to the physical, physiological, genetic, mental, economic, cultural or social identity.

Using our contact form
Your name and email address as well as other Information that you provide by filling in a contact form on this site. This is so that we are able to reply to your service enquiry or your general question.

Book a room or table
Your name, telephone number and email address by using one of our reservation services. This is so that we can contact the new customer about their reservation.

Mailing lists
Your email address when subscribing to our monthly newsletter. We don't sell, rent or trade email lists with any other organisation or business.

Google Analytics
When you visit our site we use a third party service, Google Analytics, to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns. We do this to find out things such as the number of visitors to the various pages of our site or what browser is being used. This information is processed in a way which does not identify anyone i.e. does not collect personal data. I do not make any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting my website. We handle personal data for our own business.

Information on our website will be collected in association with your use of a contact form, newsletter signup form, blog comment or by booking either a table or room from our website.

If you contact us using either our online contact form or directly via email, we may keep a record of that correspondence.

When you sign up for our newsletter, only your email address is added to our mailing list database.

When booking either a room or table using the booking service from our website, a user must supply their full name, telephone number and email address so that we may be able to contact them if there is an issue with their booking. The IP address of the device used for said booking maybe collected  and stored within our booking system database but not matched to any information that may be collected by other components of the website.

Your Personal Data is only stored for the duration of time that it is needed. Data that is stored for the sole use of signing up to our newsletter, will be kept until such data is manually removed by the user by unsubscribing. Which they can do at any time.

Stored data that has been sent via a contact form on our website will be kept for the duration of required communication.

Personal data collected through the booking of one of our booking services will be kept until such data is manually removed by us over a period of time.

All ways of collecting personal data on our website are opt-in, and you will always have the opportunity to opt-out. Meaning that in order for us to receive any personal data from you, you will need to actively choose to opt-in when filling out any of the forms on our website.

You will always have the opportunity to unsubscribe to our newsletter at any time.

All data is stored in our website database on a secure server that is password protected. It is backed up daily and is encrypted on Amazon S3 servers which are GDPR compliant and each backup is kept for 30 days and then deleted.

I am not responsible for the privacy or security practices of any third party. The collection and use of your Personal Data by such third parties may be subject to separate privacy and security policies. Under GDPR, you have the right of access to the information stored about you. For clarity, aside from the cookie data collected about your device, uskandrailwayinn.com only collects a name, telephone number and or an email address from certain areas of the website such as a contact form, newsletter signup or through booking a table or room. No details of credit cards are ever taken or stored on this website.

If you cannot update your own information, we will correct any errors in the personal data we hold about you within 7 days of receiving written notice from you about those errors.

It is your responsibility to provide us with accurate and truthful personal data. We cannot be liable for any information that is provided to me that is incorrect.
